Unfortunately many firms have bought proprietary 2-Tier Client Server Information Management tools such as ACT!, Goldmine, Maximizer, and other like-minded products. Firms buy these products due to the mis-perception that they are cheap, easy to install and easy to use. The reality is different. Lack of use, islands of information, the inability to customize it to your needs, and constant upgrades and maintenance make these products very expensive.
Problems with standard out of the box CRM products:
Code is proprietary: Hard coding makes customization impossible. These products use proprietary kernels in C or other languages making necessary extensions impossible or extremely expensive. Customizing a sales force product is mandatory. Each business has a different process, a different information flow and different needs. To fit your business to suit the software is not a profitable change.
Information Sharing: These products mimic the Microsoft application architecture - large, thick client software that is difficult to network and which quickly turns the user's desktop into a stand alone database of information. The local database is rarely synchronized with the server and corporate information is lost.
Not Network Oriented: For mobile and dispersed personnel having a network centric product is vital to share information across various locations using various devices. Products such as ACT! Or Goldmine are not network oriented which will give rise to compatibility, synchronization and data transfer issues for any company that has people operation across LAN's, WAN's, Wireless netwoks and the Internet.
Security: As well they are not 'smart' enough to pick up data types, data transfers and security issues automatically. Their security architecture is heavily client-server oriented and do not follow the proper 6 level security protocol mandated by network centric systems.
Difficult to use: These products are fat and thick full of layers and options. The average person does not need this much information and does not care to waste time navigating through numerous screens and prompts. KISS - Keep it Simple Stupid - is a guiding principle of well built software. These products are productivity wasters.
Most firms realize the above issues and want and need to transfer their data and client centric information to more open and portable products and architectures. However, they crucially do not want to lose their existing corporate information.

Once in our product we can deploy this to the field using a laptop, a PDA or a WAP phone. Using open standards we will ensure that our product and your data is usable, customized to your business needs and flexible to run on your firm's systems.

2. m-trilogix DTR™:
Our DTR (Data Transfer Recovery) product will transfer the data from Goldmine, ACT!, or Maximizer to the CRM modules offered by Siebel, Oracle and Peoplesoft. This process is automated and ensures that your firm does not lose its corporate data. These vendors do not offer this unique product and m-trilogix is the preferred supplier of such services.
